- Your TOGI email address is hosted on Microsoft 365, you will therefore require the “Microsoft Authenticator” App, which is downloadable from Google Play for Android and the App Store for Apple users.
- The “Microsoft Authenticator” App is used to secure your Account and aid where Password resets are required.
- After you’ve installed the “Microsoft Authenticator” App you would need the Temporary Password that was forwarded to your TOGI Registered Email address.
- If you have not received any correspondence for your Student Email Account please Log a Ticket at http://togi.ac.za/support and Choose “Student Email Account Instructions” under “Required assistance*” and please make sure to include your Student Number even though the “Student No” field is not mandatory.
- You can now proceed to Microsoft 365 https://www.office.com/
- On the Microsoft 365 Page, click on the “Sign in to your account” located on the top right of the Page.
- On the “Sign in” Page use your email address which is “yourstudentnumber”@stud.togi.ac.za - click “Next”
- Enter the Password that was emailed to your Institution Registered Email address.
- Note that you will be required to use your temporary password for a 2nd time when prompted to “Update your password”.
- Click next to continue however, if you are experiencing issues with your “Microsoft Authenticator” App, you could select to “Skip for now”, we do not recommend you select that option. Only skip if you absolutely cannot get the “Microsoft Authenticator” App to work. Common issues are instances where you were unable to download the App or get it to work successfully like on some Huawei models and a few older devices. NOTE DO NOT log Support Tickets for “Microsoft Authenticator” issues as it is beyond control.
- Follow the on Screen instructions to Set up your account on the “Microsoft Authenticator” App.
- On the “Microsoft Authenticator” App choose to add an Account and select “Work or school account”
- You will be prompted to scan the QR Code and once verified you’ll see an “Approve” notification on your Mobile Device.
- Congratulations you have successfully activated your TOGI Student Email Account.
- Remember going forward you will require that same “Microsoft Authenticator” App to access your Student Email Account when you sign in on a different device or choose not to save the credentials when signing in.
- If you have lost or replaced your Mobile Device, Support can reset the Authentication process however, all correspondence can only be forwarded to your Registered TOGI Email Address.
